Camp Nathan Smith, located in the heart of Kandahar City, is a key military base assisting with development projects, training local security forces, bringing governance to the city and province, and supporting crucial military operations in the southern part of Kandahar province.

The Berger/Cummins Joint Venture received a delivery order under the Worldwide Prime Power contract through the US Army Corps of Engineers to design, construct, operate and maintain a contractor-furnished 1 MW (expandable to 3 MW) power plant and complete installation of a 5 feeder 480 V power distribution system.

The prime power plant installation and commissioning was successfully completed on May 23, 2011 and supplies Camp Nathan Smith with safe and reliable power 24/7.
