USACE Awards Berger/Cummins IDIQ Contract for Worldwide Power Contingency Response

WASHINGTON, DC — The Berger/Cummins Joint Venture is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the US Army Corps of Engineers to provide power generation and electrical distribution services in conflict and disaster response locations worldwide. The multiple award IDIQ contract provides for a base period of one year, with four twelve-month option periods, and carries a total value of $490,000,000.
The purpose of the requirement is to provide power generators, plant design and construction, high voltage transmission, overhead and underground distribution systems, labor and operations & maintenance services. This contract will be used to support US Military operations worldwide and to assist foreign governments in reestablishing power supply following natural disasters.
Berger/Cummins provides expertise in design, procurement, construction, and management of power generation and distribution systems for continuous and reliable power. Berger/Cummins currently supports the US Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District and the 249th Engineer Battalion under a seven-year contract to provide Worldwide Emergency Power Operations and Maintenance in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom / New Dawn. In Iraq, Berger/Cummins has maintained 155 MW of emergency power support through four delivery orders at US Military installations.
