At Victory Base Complex West (Euphrates), Berger/Cummins completed in multiple phases a new 30.8 megawatt contractor-leased power plant with 5-day fuel storage and four feeder distribution system comprising 13 kilometers of overhead distribution. Operation and maintenance services are ongoing. At FOB Falcon, Berger/Cummins installed a 9.6 megawatt contractor-leased power plant with 5-day fuel storage to operate in conjunction with an existing 4.5 megawatt government furnished power plant, providing a total output capacity of 12.5 megawatts, and installed 7.5 kilometers of overhead distribution system. Operation and maintenance services are ongoing. At Victory Base Complex East (Tigris), Berger/Cummins is responsible for the 74 megawatt integrated plant design and operation, consisting of a 20 megawatt Government-furnished power plant, a 54 megawatt contractor-leased power plant with integrated bus, 23 kilometers of overhead distribution, a 40 megawatt substation, six 15 MVA isolation transformers and fuel farm. Operation and maintenance services are ongoing.
At Al Asad Airbase, Berger/Cummins installed a power plant generating 35.2 megawatts of power with 5-day fuel storage capacity. The plant was commissioned in phases to maintain pre-existing service while expanding. Operation and maintenance services are ongoing to include a Government-furnished 11kV medium voltage underground distribution system comprised of eight feeders, 85 electrical substations, five three-ring main units, and 109 power transformers. The power plant at Victory Base Complex East (Tigris) is comprised of QSK60 and KTA50 generators fully synchronized to provide 54 megawatts of power.Customized switchgear at Victory Base Complex West (Euphrates) provides current protection to the generators and limits power outages.
Fuel farm and oil blending equipment reduce environmental impact and provide cost savings to the US Government by reducing disposal of hazardous waste and recycling used oil products.Technicians remove generator from housing to perform routine maintenance and repair.Low voltage cables are precut and prepared for installation between generators and transformers.
Cable trays are used to carry high voltage and low voltage cables between generators, transformers, ring main units (RMUs), and switchgear.View of generator to transformer connection; riser poles for overhead distribution are visible in background.Skilled technicians installing overhead distribution wire on one of four new feeders at Victory Base Complex West (Euprates).
Berger/Cummins technicians connect a new three megawatt load to the overhead grid at Victory Base Complex East (Tigris).Leased overhead distribution lines on tall poles span main roads well above the largest vehicles at Victory Base Complex West (Euphrates).Berger/Cummins provides turnkey operations which include site planning, design, installation, power generation and operations.
